Grady's 1st Birthday! (it's a long one)

We cannot believe our little guy is already one year old. So much has happened and been accomplished in the past year. It has gone by far too fast!!! We are savoring every minute because we know he will be out the door and on his own before we know it. Grady is no longer a little baby. Actually, the only time he was little was probably the day he was born. From then on he has been big for his age. But it is crazy to see newborns now and realize how much he has grown and developed in one year.

Grady is starting to figure out how to walk, which is adorable. Some of his favorite things are playing soccer and catch with various balls we have around the house. With us and by himself. He plays soccer with his arms since he is still crawling but it is an amazing sight to see. He literally chases the ball while crawling and hits it with his right or left hand and keeps it rolling over and over again. He also loves balloons and wheels on any toy truck, car, stroller or full size vehicle. One of his most recent games is playing fetch with Lucky our lab. He will throw Lucky's dog toy to her and she will pick it up and bring it back to him. They can play that game for hours. Grady loves the water, which is one of his first words and he loves fruit. He definitely has a sweet tooth like his momma.

I guess to sum him up he is a typical boy. He talks all day long at home, in the car, at meals, and he interacts in every conversation as if he is definitely part of it. Once he figures out his words there will be no stopping him. He always wakes up with a smile on his face and he is getting very good at goofing around and making other people laugh. Parenthood has been everything and more than Tim and I could have hoped for and we cannot imagine life without our little guy.

When Tyler and Lindsey were here visiting we celebrated Grady's birthday with the family. We had a small get together and Grady had his cupcake with his 1 candle. Yesterday, on his official birthday, Tim and I took him to Red Robin where they sang happy birthday and gave him a sundae. He didn't know what to think about the people or the singing but he handled it like a big boy and then he ate his sundae. Many pictures and a video below. He has his one year doctor's visit next week so I will post some stats then.

So cute! We need to get together soon. We haven't seen each other since Derek was born. He's 4 months old now! Crazy how time flies. Let me know if you want to do lunch some time soon.
