Happy Valentine's Day! Grady hit the nine month mark on Valentine's Day so it is time to recap the 8th month. Just like the 7th month, he reached many new milestones. The best one is sleeping consistently through the night for 10-12 hours. It pretty much started on the day he turned 8 months. Before that, he would go 10-12 hours here and there but never consistently. I think he somehow knew I needed more sleep and decided it was time. Either that or his body finally packed on enough fat to get him through the night.
This month Grady has been cruising around the house, crawling faster than I can walk and climbing up everything in his eyesight. He is starting to get brave and take his hands off the wall and even take a step before falling. Luckily, he has also mastered the art of falling or gently sitting down on his bum. His profile is ever changing with the arrival of four top teeth and now he is working on two more lower ones. He is also talking. He says Da-Da, Ma-Ma, Ba-Ba, and Ra-Ra and of course a bunch of other goo-goo's we can't make out yet. A couple of weeks ago Grady crawled into his room, on his own and started playing his piano. Now it is very common to hear him playing while we are in another room. We thought it was the cutest thing ever since he has to pull himself up to reach the keys.

This morning we had Grady's 9 month check up. He is doing well and growing like a weed. At 31 inches, he is off the charts in height. We compared his recent stats with Tim's records and Tim was 32 inches at 15 months. Needless to say, we will have a very tall boy on our hands. The doctor said he is so active that he is only 60% for his weight compared to other boys at his height. This means we can feed him even more than he already eats. The lean machine definitely keeps me on my toes but he is also very independent, which is such a blessing.
